UPDATE! September 2008
Toryn Green and Fuel score a hit with “Leave the Memories Alone” on their Angels and Devils album!
UPDATE! April, 2007
Fuel announces Toryn Green as their new leader singer! After lead singer Brett Scallions left Fuel in early ‘06 — best known for their mega-hit “Hemorrhage” — the band failed to sign on Chris Daughtry who moved on to successful music career, fans of the band were left wondering who would take over even as Carl Bell continued to tease that a new album is coming.
Now, there are no more teases. The band has made it official. Toryn Green (former band, Something to Burn) is their new front man — and Godsmack’s Tommy Stewart is signing up as their drummer — and yes, they have a new album coming.
Fuel released an official statement on the band’s website that read as follows:
Yes, Toryn Green is our new lead singer and we welcome him to the Fuel camp! Toryn was the standout, following our world wide website auditions that we conducted last year, where we put the song Hemorrhage up on the site for potential lead vocalist to sing over. Out of over 1000 submissions from all over the world, Toryn submitted an amazing audition and then walked in and blew us all away in LA where we held in-person try-outs. He is the whole package, bringing his own great vocal style and vibe, while keeping in step with the history Fuel has already established. I think you all are going to be very pleased with our choice. He was amazing in the studio and is sounding killer in rehearsals as we are gearing up for an upcoming tour starting with dates in two weeks.
History: After AMTC, Toryn moved from Alaska to Los Angeles to pursue music. He soon became the frontman for the rock group, “Something To Burn.” After battling their way to the top and winning the American finals, STB represented the U.S. in Hong Kong in “World Battle of the Bands” against Singapore, the Phillipines, Australia, Hong Kong, and New Zealand. After winning this global competition, STB was flown to China for the “ROCKBEIJINGTOUR.” There, they would go one to play for 10,000+ screaming fans in in the MIDI festival. Look for much more from this on the move group. Way to go, Toryn!
