ABOUT Ser’Darius Blain

At the age of 12, Ser’Darius’ mother, an English/Drama teacher at his Florida middle school, asked for his help rewriting a classic play. In the process, his mother realized that Ser’Darius had a knack for writing and for memorizing large amounts of text. She encouraged him to audition for the play and he reluctantly obliged. Ser’Darius was cast as the understudy for the lead character, but by the 2nd performance, the seed was planted when he took over the lead and his shyness evaporated. Though he enjoyed acting, he believed “there was no solid future in entertainment.” Ser’Darius wanted to be a cardiologist, but he lost his sports scholarship when he injured his knee during his junior year of high school. Thankfully, due to his academic accomplishments, he was still able to acquire a scholarship to a local community college.

After his second year at the community college, Ser’Darius felt stagnant, and decided he would transfer to University of Miami to continue his education. Ser’Darius attended an audition for AMTC, received a callback, and performed at SHINE! He earned countless trophies and callbacks from talent agents and managers on both coasts. A scholarship to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts quickly followed, and in 2007 he packed his bags and headed to New York City to pursue what he had once assumed was an unattainable goal.
