Nelson Diaz

UPDATE
Nelson has been quite busy! Some of his most recent work includes guest starring on Law & Order, TV commercials for Blockbuster, Campbell’s Chunky Soup, Slim Fast and John Hancock Financial. While not busy with performing, Nelson keeps himself happily occupied with the business of helping others; he actively manages exceptional aspiring talent.

Nelson’s email to AMTC says…..I have moved my career towards screenwriting and I’m currently finishing up 3 scripts – one with Shane Sparks, a pilot treatment based on his family. I am also finishing up filming an indie film with Erica Phillips (40 Year Old Virgin and Super Bad).

…Nelson has also been touring the country doing Stand Up Comedy, performing at colleges, festivals, and classic clubs, such as the World Famous Comedy Store.

Nelson’s interests now include script writing. Having finished his second script (with Fox’s ‘On the Lot’ alum Shauna Altieri), his goal is to begin production on one of the projects soon.

Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Nelson Diaz went to AMTC with Carolina Talent. He won Overall Male Commercial Model and was a finalist for Overall Actor. Nelson moved to New York, and quickly signed with Don Buchwald and Associates and Colbalt Sky Entertainment. Nelson’s first big break in New York came when Barry Shapiro, another agent he met at AMTC, cast him in a national Verizon commercial.

Nelson’s commercials and films include: The New York Post, The Beverly Hospital, Toyota, Trimspa, John Deere, Olive Garden, US Armed Forces, Verizon, Commuter Choice Maryland, Slimfast Optima, Arby’s, Campbell’s Chunky Soup, Blockbuster Video, and Independent Film, Like a Springsteen Song. Nelson has worked with Comedy Central, and is writing a comedic independent film with one of Saturday Night Live’s main writers, JB Smoove.

He has been seen “shaking it” in a national Slim Fast commercial. If you meet Nelson, you should pick up on one of the most important attributes of success in the acting industry: the ability to network. Be nice to every person you meet, because this industry is one where everyone knows everyone! He also had a guest starring role on Law and Order: Criminal Intent.
