Mathai was born in New York but has lived in Dallas, TX most of her young life. She is the first generation of her family, who hail from India, to be born in the United States.

A student of jazz, her unique vocal stylings span such influences as Billie Holiday, Adele, Nelly Furtado and Nora Jones. Her big break came when she was discovered by two industry executives while attending AMTC’s SHINE convention in Summer of 2010.

Currently studying medicine at Texas Woman’s University in Coppell, TX on scholarship, Mathai spends whatever free time she has on developing new projects. Her debut commercial release found her collaborating with producers and creators Troi and Angie Irons, Tony Rich, Arex (Justin Bieber), Kendrick “Wylcard” Dean (Usher, Mariah Carey), JHart (Priscilla Renae), and others.
