Young Aaron Conley,from West Point, MS, always knew what his calling was. He came to AMTC at the age of nine, and performed at SHINE in 2004. After Aaron’s week at SHINE he signed with Shirley Grant Management. Within a few weeks, Aaron and his mother drove all the way to New York City to audition for the role of ‘Young Simba’ in The Lion King on Broadway. Guess what? He got it! Aaron was able to complete over three hundred performances! He was a huge hit!

Aaron is enormously talented, but he and his fellow “Broadway children” still had to do their homework. “They are performing a professional job and are expected to maintain academic standards. That’s like having two jobs,” said Willie Boston of the Actor’s Equity Association, the union of theater actors and stage managers. “Plus, they’re also kids, so my hat is off to them.”
