You Can’t – But HE Can!

Good Day,

I greet you in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus, who is the Christ.

My son, Timothy, auditioned for AMTC in January and received a callback to attend the 2010 Summer Convention. It has truly been a blessing since we heard the announcement on the radio for the audition, to go out for the audition, and then to register for AMTC. Attending all of the rehearsals and the photo shoot has been amazing thus far; I can only imagine the full excitement of the Summer Convention. Our whole family is thrilled and cannot wait to see AMTC in full effect.

I am compelled to tell you that AMTC has truly blessed us, but more importantly I wanted to share a bit of our testimony. It has been an incredible journey to get to this point and I know that there are many potential AMTC contestants that might never make it this far. As I share AMTC with people, I hear all too often that “I can’t afford that.” My response is, “You can’t; but He can.”

We embarked on a massive fundraising drive on January 19, 2010 (two days after receiving a callback to attend AMTC). During that time, we were in financial dire straits (no need to elaborate). The fact to the matter is that we could not even afford the registration fee. But thanks to our faith in God, prayer and determination, we began our undertaking with the help of AMTConline Sponsorships. Our first fundraiser was to raffle off my “gently-used” iPod Touch. In two weeks, we raised [almost all of] the registration fee, and not to mention that the monthly payment plan was another saving grace.

For many people, AMTC is a dream come, especially for Christians. However, it’s very costly for the average person who is just venturing into the industry. Our family has just begun to get our feet wet… But I am happy to share with people, and I wanted you to know, that every dollar for AMTC has been raised through donations, fundraising, and sponsors. We sent out sponsorship letters, pledge letters, held two raffles, held a breakfast, and sold snacks to cover not only the cost of AMTC but travel expenses as well. We have also sent out a monthly newsletter and created a fan page on Facebook to keep all of our supporters informed with updates on this endeavor as a testimony for anyone who is trying to pursue a dream.

Thank you for the inspiration through the Word and the support through the AMTC academy. We have asked, and it has been given.
