Convention Was Only The Beginning

Ms. Carey,

My husband and I would like to update you on Mark’s journey. Thanks to the helpful advice and genuine care for my son from AMTC staff, he has made leaps and bounds in the industry. After AMTC Summer 2010, we took your advice verbatim and did our follow up plan and kept networking. Mark got five callbacks at convention, but that was only the beginning. We kept sending headshots to agencies from the list you provided of VIPs because we wanted to stay in the local area. Some we heard back from, and others we did not. But we were never discouraged.

In the meantime, Mark kept training and seeing Michael for extra classes. He also got experience by working with Alex Martinez on a kids photo shoot and on doing another print/web project for the new campaign for the Center for an Educated Georgia (yet to be kicked off). He also took part in a lead on a promotional video shot by Alex Gardener (Smart Aleck Films) for raising money for cancer research entitled “Donate for the Cure”… He was also cast as a lead in the theatre production entitled Don’t Be a Bully! Speak Up! Speak Out! It is a production that performs around Georgia and the surrounding area educating children on bullying and encouraging them to speak up.

Most recently, Mark was cast as the lead in an upcoming 15 minute Spanish short film that will be shot by Alex Moratto in North Carolina. He is now represented by Bev and Bentley from B&B Model & Talent, LLC here in Georgia. All of this work and the child still maintains excellent grades in his school’s advanced curriculum! Lastly, we are also planning to spend the summer in LA and can only hope LA is ready for Mark!

Thank you for all your guidance and love for my child. It is only because of the AMTC family that we have found a way to navigate through this network of people and agencies in the entertainment industry. I know we have a long journey ahead of us, but we thank God for our blessings and find refuge in His strength!
