AMTC: Leadership, Honesty and Encouragement

The beginning of 2011 has started off in a very encouraging way for me, and I hope the same for the many others who attended the AMTC Conference. I’m trusting it will continue.

My experience at this latest conference was, for me, a fun and challenging way to grow and learn about some of the Lord’s gifts in me, about the industry and how to move forward in it, and about myself.

As the week went on, I was able to adjust my performances to what I was learning in the seminars, workshops, and feedback from the judges. It was working, and I became more relaxed and confident in what I was doing as the week progressed.

My best and greatest lessons came as I found myself challenged inwardly with discouragement when I didn’t do a performance as well as the 100 times I’d done it before, forgetting a word or stumbling over one. The challenges also came in the form of thinking too highly of myself when something went better than expected. There was a relatively constant conversation going on between the Lord and me throughout the week on how I view myself and how I view Him. I fell off both sides into pride, thinking too highly and too lowly of myself at different times. He reminded me that I am His, and He is with me no matter how my performances go and that He’s got His fingerprints on me and my talents and training. So, relax and pursue strongly after Him and what He’s given with His freed up peace and “go-for-it-ness.”

A significant part of my experience was the guidance and support you guys gave throughout the week. I appreciated the positive way the AMTC Team worked together to provide leadership with honesty and encouragement. You specifically were always fun, inviting, and especially kind to respond to my repeated questions. I’m sure they had already been covered before more than once. Thank you.

No matter where the Lord leads, my experience with you and AMTC has already been used by the Lord in me to draw me closer to Him, and opened my heart to be used in more ways by Him.

May He deepen your heart and knowledge of Him in all this work and keep using you and AMTC to recruit, reveal, and shape lives and society for His glory and renown.
