”...I truly felt like I was not just doing what I love, but glorifying God…”

Hello! My name is Jessica Mohr. I attended AMTC in the Summer 2002 session at the age of 11. It was truly an eye-opening and thrilling opportunity. It made me not just enjoy acting but fall in love with it. Now I am 17 years old and I just attended AMTC during the Summer 2008 session. I must say that this time around was even more wonderful than the first.

When I was praying about whether it was God’s will for me to attend AMTC again was around the same time that you announced that AMTC was a Christian company. This was like a sign to me. As a Christian it is even more frightening for me to enter the entertainment industry knowing the possible trials I will face. However, when I saw that AMTC was openly proclaiming its Christian faith, I felt like I suddenly had a whole Christian support system backing me up. I knew that this was God’s timing for me.

Following my heart, I auditioned for AMTC and began practicing last winter. When I actually arrived at AMTC it was even better than I had expected. During the whole event I truly felt like I was not just doing what I love, but glorifying God in the process.  The week flew by and I couldn’t believe it when it was time for callbacks and the awards ceremony. I was thrilled to have received four callbacks. I received an award as a Finalist for Overall Actress and the Spirit of AMTC award within my agency.

I am hoping to be in Los Angeles for pilot season, but we will wait and see what God has planned for me.

Having said all that, I would like to personally thank you for AMTC, your passion and commitment to every contestant, and most importantly your passion for Christ. I feel like I could be the spokesperson for AMTC because I only have positive and wonderful things to say about it. I hope to stay in touch with AMTC and do anything and everything I can for the organization.
