February 2012 UPDATE

Mark has booked a few short indie films and local commercials. Check out his latest national commercial for FEMA.

July 2011 UPDATE

Hi Ms. Carey,

It’s been a few months since I updated you on Mark’s progress. Wow, how quickly time flies when you are on a good path! Since our last update, Mark has wrapped on The Odd Life of Timothy Green where Mark was booked as a featured extra. Mark got to work very closely with CJ Adams and Common and next to Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton. What great people!! Mark learned so much from being on such a big set and he learned so much from the fabulous and very patient Peter Hedges. As a parent, I learned how tough the crew has it when many child actors are involved.

Right after the film wrapped and much prayer and affirmation, we executed our plan to relocate to Los Angeles. Mark signed with April Baker at Brass Artists and Associates (now Venture IAB). Mark’s been on a few auditions and new acting classes. He recently wrapped a short comedic film entitled Ain’t Nothing Going On where he worked with and learned from seasoned local actors. Mark also continues to work with Miss Gabbie Rae Trial. He was in one of her photo shoots recently and hopes to keep the collaboration going with such a talented young lady with a fantastic and savvy team. Lastly, Mark is in hyperspeed mode with learning Spanish, because with that also in his toolbox, he will be unstoppable!

January 2011 UPDATE
Mark has been busy since AMTC Summer 2010, where he was a finalist for Overall Actor in his age group, and received 5 callbacks. The Manchas took AMTC’s advice verbatim, using a follow-up plan and much networking. Meanwhile Mark continued training and gaining experience. He has since worked in photo campaigns for Center for an Educated Georgia, a promo video for cancer research for Smart Aleck Films, and was cast as a lead in a local Georgia theater production of “Don’t Be A Bully”. Most recently Mark was cast as the lead in a short film shot in North Carolina.

Mark maintains excellent grades and is looking forward to a summer in LA. Mark is represented by B&B Model and Talent in Atlanta.

From Maria, Mark’s mother:

Thank you for all your guidance and love for my child. It is only because of the AMTC family that we have found a way to navigate through this network of people and agencies in the entertainment industry. I know we have a long journey ahead of us, but we thank God for our blessings and find refuge in His strength!

Thanks again and we’ll keep in touch.
