October 2010 UPDATE

January 2010 UPDATE:

Good Morning Kim,

So many things are going on for Katelyn right now, where do I start? Katelyn is now going to be 15 years old in a couple of weeks. Since our last update she has been busy with school, her education is so important to us, she started high school this fall with a 3.6 GPA. Through my networking for Katelyn, I met a songwriter from Nashville who suggested that Katelyn hook up with Beth Kille. Beth is a an award winning singer/songwriter. Beth has also worked with Bobby E. Boyd who co-wrote “Bless the Broken Road” with the Rascal Flatts. Katelyn has been writing songs with her! Beth has been so impressed with her vocal abilities at such a young age. I do believe that there is a higher power at work here. Beth asked Katelyn if she would be interested in performing in a show called Chick Singer Night which is new to Madison, WI. Katelyn jumped on it. This is the first time that Katelyn has performed with a live band. It will be at a very popular place here called The Brink Lounge. Katelyn is also in the February issue of Wisconsin Women magazine on page 34. Katelyn has been asked to sing at “The World’s Largest BratFest” here in Madison, Memorial Day weekend. Thousands of people come so this will be her largest audience. She also has recently landed a leading role as Mabel Washington in the musical “Fame” which is being put on by our community theater, VACT. Katelyn on her high school junior varsity dance team. I didn’t not realize she was such an awesome dancer – she is now a quadruple threat!
After modeling for Catherine Schuller in LA at Paramount Studios in June 2008 for Divabetic, she has been working even harder to make her dreams a reality. I believe that opportunity really inspired her. I will also mention that Catherine Schuller is a wonderful lady and maybe some day Katelyn will get to model for her again. November 2008 UPDATE:

Dear Kim,
Thanks so much much for asking to see how Katelyn is doing. She did model for Catherine Schuller with Divabetic in LA at the Paramount Studios on June 28, 2008. What an experience! Katelyn had so much fun and all of the people she got to meet, everyone was wonderful. Katelyn now has the Hollywood bug in her. LOL!!! Currently she just finished recording a new demo CD which is in production right now and should be finished by the end of December. She will also be working with a new vocal coach Amanda Clark, she was in the national tour of Hello Dolly and Les Miserables; she also was in the Las Vegas production of Phantom of the Opera playing Christine. We are very fortunate to have someone like her in Madison Wyoming. We want to thank AMTC for being there. It has been a wonderful experience and we learned so much. Everyone has been fantastic, especially Allie Reeves. We did visit her shortly when we were in LA this summer.

April 29, 2008, Update from Katelyn’s mom, Renee:

Catherine Schuller of Curve Style would love to have Katelyn walk in a runway show for DIVABetic. It is a charity event at the Paramount Studios in LA. We feel that traveling to Los Angeles and participating in this show will be a great opportunity for her.
