Update from Josh’s Mom

Hey Drew,

Just wanted to tell you that I really noticed a difference between Josh and the other kids at an audition yesterday…it was ALL about his training. He has signed with Maultsby, last month actually, and he had an audition at Fincannon yesterday for a commercial. They wanted soccer teams but were interested in a few individuals, including Josh, that weren’t necessarily on a team there in Wilmington. These kids were all Josh’s age…and all full of energy. But, the Fincannon’s were having to tell them all to hush and quit throwing the soccer balls around, things like that. We had a wait of 1-1.5 hours…not really that long. I even saw the dreaded “kid being disrespectful to his mom” thing, AND how he was being watched while doing it. I really was able to see just how the casting directors watch what is going on. I also saw them watching Josh, sitting quietly (believe it or not, haha)…waiting for his turn. Don’t know if it would influence their decision or not, but they really were watching!

It has really been a crazy three months. His coach found an audition for a student film…that he got and has already filmed. Then he signed with Maultsby at the beginning of April. Did a film audition the day after we signed the contract…and he got a call back to do another video audition. We haven’t heard anything from that, but his agent seemed more excited that the casting director has taken an interest in him than about the audition itself. I can’t believe that it has almost been a year since he went to convention!!

Anyway, I just wanted to encourage you that these kids really are taking your training beyond AMTC. I don’t even mean getting parts, or signing contracts…I mean they listened to everything you tried to teach them. It added so much to what we have been trying to teach our kids about how to act and treat people. I pray that you and everyone else truly reap the blessings that you all have poured out onto all the contestants!!!
