August 2010 UPDATE from Jaeda’s mom

Jaeda and I have been in Long Island, NY for 3 weeks now and we are ready to come home! We are waiting to hear back from Thursday’s audition to decide if we will stay a few more days or return when needed! In the mean time I want to say thanks to our hosts, Alex and Luann Negron who provided a HOME for us to stay in; to Jaeda’s manager, David Doan, for working with us since AMTC (you have been a great help to us & we are expecting great things with you); to Angeline who helped us get started on this Journey from the beginning (you are an AWESOME friend); to all of our Family and Friends who have been supporting Jaeda in her venture this past year and a half; to AMTC (and everyone who worked with Jaeda) for providing an organiztion where we felt Jaeda would be safe to explore this industry;to Arthur for allowing us to be apart so long to help Jaeda with he dream; and of course to God for putting this light in Jaeda that she is now willing to share with the rest of the world.

I’m having a good time in NY and I hope we come back soon!!

Previous Letter

Dear Carey and Bob,

We just want to thank you for all that AMTC has opened up for our daughter, Jaeda. We began our journey with you February, 2009. From day one (the audition) Jaeda was encouraged by the staff and I was impressed with the atmosphere and presentation.
Once we began the workshops Jaeda was 5 years old. At one point she didn’t want to dance anymore but her coach, Donna Doss-Spicer, had a heart to heart talk with her about how God had given her talents and abilities, not for her, but for her to use for Him, to glorify Him! We went home later that night and prayed about whether or not Jaeda should or would continue. Well she woke up the next morning and before we even mentioned anything said she “did not want satan to win because she was scared”. From that moment on we focused on just having fun!

Since coming to the January Convention Jaeda is going to be working with a model agent and also a talent agent here in Virginia. We are making plans to get to New York in the summer to sign with David Doan of Intrepid Talent Management who we met at call backs! The best part of this story is this; one month before the Winter 2010 Convention we signed with Rejoice Talent Agency whose owner is Donna Doss-Spicer, Jaeda’s AMTC Dance coach! Wait, it gets better. One day before we flew to Orlando, we drove to Maryland for a short film audition Donna said we should go to. On Wednesday, one day after we returned from Orlando we received a call saying Jaeda had gotten her first speaking role and we drove back to Maryland on Friday to get her script.
We credit AMTC with preparing both her and us on how to conduct ourselves in an audition and interview. Also, if not for AMTC we would have not known Donna who has been and amazing friend, agent and sounding board to this family. As Christian parents with a child who wants to work in this industry we are learning to make good God choices on which projects she will be a part of. The film is finally complete and we are awaiting our copy. The director said she enjoyed working with Jaeda and has said she may have another project for her.

AMTC has launched this family on a path that Jaeda has been wanting to get on since she could tell us she wanted to be on T.V. Now because of you company’s integrity, values and professionalism we were willing to step through the door and see what God had in store for her and us!
As I have shared with everyone who will listen since returning from Winter Convention, we are very grateful to be a part of the AMTC family. You have been both honest and very informative about this industry. Thank you for giving us the tools to be able to help Jaeda “be a light”.
