October 2011 UPDATE
At the Winter 2009 convention, Jackson Nance (then 9) walked away with the award for Grand Overall Child Singer, and a standing ovation at the talent finale for his performance of “Lights” by Journey. He became known to fellow performers as “The Journey Boy.” But that was only the beginning. In a couple of short years he has already rubbed elbows with big hitters in the industry, gone on his own tour, and now, recorded his first professional album My Time to Shine. It certainly is.

A letter from Jackson:
“Thank you Mrs. Carey, I will always be greatfull for the opportunity and platform you gave me. Since I performed at SHINE, I had the opportunity to be in a movie, in several commercials, in magazines, and I am the youngest artist that has been signed with BMI! I have two cd’s; they both have original songs that have been written for me, and I wrote a song called Walking in the Woods. I am also doing a school tour.”
