Christian Comedy Chicks

Attended SHINE: Summer 2011

We did a retreat at Colonial Heights Christian Church in Tennessee. Each chick took one workshop and using the theme “Loving Well”, we taught the Lord’s word. Then we ended the weekend with a comedy show. As far as I could tell, every seat was filled every sesson, even after lunch.

After performing in the Summer ’11 SHINE convention, 6 women graduates got together and decided to make some possibilities of their own. In the Fall of 2011, after many emails, Skype calls, and earnest prayers, the Christian Comedy Chicks were… er, hatched.

Jessica Ramirez, Kim Ammerman, Liz Jones, Andrea Jones, JoLynn Cunningham, and Laura Mae Poore form the group that brings a message “of joy and hope that the ‘Imperfect is Perfect.’”

“We are called to share our gift of laughter and spread the message of self-love against self-hate. The Christian Comedy Chicks are all at a place in our lives where these blessings are truly appreciated, not expected. We believe that God brought us together for a purpose and this is one of them. Our laughter comes from a place of joy and we truly feel called to share it with the world, or at least a crowd in Hawaii. We will give back in our communities and tithe in all financial blessings.”
