I am asking a serious question. Since I am in AMTC, a talent development business that launches stars, I wonder. If we asked 100 kids in New York City and 100 more in Bombay, India, what would they answer? I have a bad feeling that they would say, “Paris Hilton.” Why? She is a media celebrity all over the world. Her face and body have splashed more covers and TV tabloid shows than any president. Her image and adventures are absorbed with fascination by hundreds of millions of people. A case could be made for Paris to be the most famous woman in the world today. Think of the number of young girls who watch her and hope to be “like Paris.” She has great influence. They study her. She is their role model.
Jesus Christ was famous in His lifetime, but only in the towns that He traveled in a relatively small area. After His crucifixion, He gradually became famous all over the world, as followers of Christ grew to hundreds of millions. Surely, the Bible is the best read book in the world; nothing compares to it in sales. Even other religions recognize Jesus as a prophet and/or a famous man that changed the world. He still changes the world on a daily basis, but not enough people talk about it or Him. Christians, including me, call Him the King of Kings, though He has many titles. We study Him. He is our role model. In truth, we hope to be just like Him.
Still, we live in the world, and media celebrities are a fact of life. Yet, they are not a truth of life. Therefore, I propose that performers of light, truth, talent, and beauty fight hard for the roles and lives that need to be won. I propose that models, actors, singers, dancers and comedians who love God practice their hardest, join the entertainment game, step up the plate, compete with the best in the world, hit home runs, and become stars. God will help you. He is the umpire, and He cannot be pleased with the players. By getting in the game, you will give kids today better choices about Who to cheer for and Who to copy. Can they follow you who follow Jesus, or can they follow Paris who follows… God knows what. I will not hazard a guess, but the consequences of her celebrity status are far reaching.
Jesus is The Superstar, but only you can make Him more famous than Paris. Until He comes back for a personal appearance, you are His stand-ins.

Unfortunately, modern society is bombarded by the media with these completely inappropriate "role models". It is our responsibility as Christians and persons of good moral character to cast aside these "idols" and replace them with "beings of light". This is the mission of AMTC! I propose that we have to take it one step further... as consumers, we must boycott those products and companies that promote immoral and improper behavior! Take back the entertainment and modeling industry by refusing to purchase and promote any indecent lifestyle. Refuse to let our children emulate or idolize these negative "role models" by banishing the things they represent from our homes. Don't buy "licensed" merchandise or products if the ads are "sexy" or provocative. Refuse to purchase a magazine with a scantily clad celebrity on the cover. Know what the lyrics say in the music your children listen to, and make sure they understand how it can be very hurtful in so many ways. Don't let them or you "buy" into the mentality that everyone else is doing it, so it is okay. If we refuse to patronize this ideal, we CAN make a difference and "bring light make into the world"!

I don't understand why revealing ads and promotion is necessary. Don't they know how rotten it can make people? I learned pleasure isn't always a good thing, it's doing what's right that right. And once you send a positive message, all I can say is there's strength in numbers. May God Bless you all.

This is sooo true! I'm very happy to know that there are still people in the entertainment industry that acknowledge Jesus Christ as The Real Superstar of the world. Its a shame that a lot of entertainers, and media viewers lose sight of the Truth, and dont give credit where credit is due. What a blessing to have an agency as yourself who gives the real glory to our Lord. Thank you for helping Him to be seen, known & acknowledged by our youth in todays industry. Through God all things are possible- I commend you for sharing this. I pray that if a study were really done on 100 kids in the US and India that the majority would say without a doubt that Jesus is more famous than Miss.Hilton. Unfortunately, and very sadly so...you would probably be correct. What happened to all the wholesome tv shows and actors with morals & dignity anyway? They must be working for you?:) God bless you & God bless this country.
