Lose the glam- Learn to look like a real model!

Katherine Sims lost the glam and found success by highlighting her natural beauty.

In todays society young girls are bombarded with overstlyed ads, sexy icons & peer pressure to look like their friends. The big secret- modeling and the industry encourage just the opposite.

Why? Beauty is natural. Anyone can look fabulous with a ton of makeup, big hair, high heels & studio lighting. But, who can look just as good without? Models!

Models working in major markets- NY, LA, Miami, Paris, etc… do NOT wear makeup on castings or to meet with important clients. Why? Their natural beauty would be hidden. Instead, the attitude is embraced- “I am so cool, I do not need to look like everyone else”

Attn all girls!- Drop the eyeliner, the makeup, the highlighted hair, the heels & uncomfortable clothing.

Katherine Sims, a very talented AMTC Kid from Miami is pictured below before & after. Before she was a confused newcomer trying to break into the industry & after she is a real working model. What changed? She dropped the sexy pose, makeup & overstyling. She embraced her unique look. Katherine is signed with Wilhelmina Miami & Jet Set Models in LA.

Amen...this is what separates the "pagent contestants" from "real world models."

I definety think natural beauty is the best, especially for the younger models. It shows who you really are instead of coating your personality in makeup.

Kids and Glam do not mix. Moms, you're striving to have your child's unique features portrayed, while staying true to their youth & vitality. To capture my own daughter's dimples and highlights, a winning combo is to take outside shots with a little wind blowing through her locks!

I wanted to just re-iterate about the BLOG that Lexy did on "loose the glam...learn to model"

One of my models when I first found her...had TONS of makeup...black eyeliner...too much foundation that covered her beautiful freckles.... straightened hair...completley overdone and over styled. After MUCH persuasion from me and several "please go wash your face" comments ... she has become a VERY successful model...Tayla Collins. ( you can see her on the Millie Lewis success stories or newyorkmodels.com) She will tell you now that all that makeup and over done hair was a complete waste of time. Listen when we tell you these things about "understyling". This is so important in the industry of modeling. I STILL battle with girls over and over about the black eyeliner...remember...your agent has your best intrest at heart! Look at the fashion magazines like Nylon and Teen Vogue....most of the girls in there don't even have makeup on. Learn to develop your own innovative "street style". Embrace your natural beauty!

It's about time....people want to see your face, not a mask. I, for one, think that your natural beauty is the best option. I dropped the make up years ago, and I feel better about it now!

Yeah I agree. Too much makeup can make you look a little tacky. Plus, it can do some skin damage if you leave it on.
