Janet Kyle: a Tribute

APR
17
2007

Janet Kyle, Owner of Turnabout Talent in Stuart, FL, for over 40 years, passed away April 14 after a brief illness. Janet was one of 4 AMTC “Lifetime Ahcievement Award” recipeints in our 25 year history.

From Myke, Janet’s daughter, who always came with Janet to AMTC…
“My mother was a kind and courageous woman who enjoyed life, always moved forward and sought the best in every person and situation. We have all, indeed, been fortunate to be a loved and important part of her long and happy life. She has gone to Glory with the wings of Angels wrapped around her.”

From Kim Myers
“I am so sad today at the news of my dearest friend Janet. I reflect on the many wonderful and happy times that we’ve shared over the years. As many would agree, our lives are that more enriched just because we knew her. The many “sleep-overs” (that is what we called them) that we had in her Stuart home were always filled with laughter, dancing and stories! Her morning breakfast routines were hysterical! She would waltz into my room dancing with the morning paper and a cup of coffee, singing “There’s No Business Like Show Business” – her and Ethel Merman! I will forever keep those moments close and pull them out in the years to come. Her impact will live on for years.”

From Carey Arban
“Janet Kyle was my role model. I can honestly say that she was like an angel of light in this world. One of my best Janet Kyle memories is when she brought a rap group to AMTC. She was their manager. There seemed to be a lot of them- boys and girls. They were big and looked a little “rough” in their oversized gear. Yet they circled attentively and respectfully around Janet. She instructed them with her soft voice and a twinkle in her eye.

It is hard for me to say what an inspiration Janet Kyle was to me. She was a light of wisdom, wit, and love- with a joy for life that was undeniable and awesome. She brought so many gifts to the talent industry, to AMTC, and to the thousands of lives she touched directly and indirectly. I will never forget Janet!

I wish I had been able to know Janet as close as Kim Myers, Carey Arban, and others did. What I did know and hear is that she was a role model to our industry and such a warm person with a wonderful sense of humor. She is flying high with Millie Lewis and my mom which I lost recently. They are our chearleaders and continue to chear us on to victory. We will all be together again one day. We will miss you Janet. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

We were privileged to know Janet since the late 1970's. She was always an inspiration & dear friend to us. Her happy disposition made any task lighter and she freely gave advice to all.

We were blessed to have one last

opportunity to spend time with Janet at the AMTC in January.

We will miss her. We send Janet's

family & her family at Turnabout Talent our sympathy.

Lianabel International is very sorry for the lost of Mrs. Janet Kyle and will always be remembered as a sofisticated, elegant and a very profesional person, who dedicated her self to this industry. And will always be remember for the times shared Before, during and after AMTC. Mrs. Janet Kyle will always be an example to follow. And will be greatly missed.

Janet Kyle was an incredible role model and the most genuine person I'd ever met! She always had a smile on her face and an unparalleled zest for life. I will forever remember and admire her.

Although Janet left us far too soon, she left an imprint on our lives and in our hearts. She had such charisma and a love for life and her optimism was inspiring. We will always remember the love and strength Janet showed everyone she knew. While we're all very sad that her time here is over, we rest in the knowledge that she will walk beside Millie and Randy for all eternity. Her smile and her laughter still brightens our dreams...but most of all we will carry her forever in our hearts!

I knew Janet very well. She had helped me to prepare for my competition which was this past January. She was an inspiration to my partner and I as we danced our hearts out for her every single time she asked us to. She helped me so much with my solo dance that got an honorary mention and she helped my partner and I place 2nd place with our hip hop duet. It was a pleasure to know her and to work with her. I remember when my partner and I got the 2nd place I look down to the first table at the awards ceremony and there she is crying because of all the people who had won. We were the first group to go to convention after she turned over the agency to Tigie. She was an angel sent down from the heavens and when I go back to AMTC next year I will certainly be performing full out as I did for Janet. She saw her agency soar into the skies and she did what she wanted to did in life she was a hapy content woman

Sincerely,

Christopher Gonzalez

My Diva,My mentor is gone!!! I only wish I had known her for more then only 9years,,That is in the working world of Turnabout. We often sat around after a day of training,as depicted in the show Boston Legal..But instead of smoking cigars,we would do chocolate. Sometimes she was my mother.sometimes my sister, but most of the time my friend. Give them hell up there, show them how its done...

What fun and excitement it was to work with Janet when we were so young and full of ideas and felt anything was not only possible, but we could make it all happen. Having Eileen Ford, John Casablancas, Wilhelmina and the greatest agents from Europe at those events seemed so "normal" to us and Janet with her beauty and personality kept everyone dazzled. She always loved all of the "kids" and was a shining example for every school owner/director with her style and manner. All these years of friendship, I can hear her voice and her laughter for she had intellect, wit, and boundless joy. Janet Kyle, an amazing woman who made a difference in so many lives. We miss you!

Janet Kyle was "Aunt Janet" to our family. Her brother, Bud, was my father, and when he and my mother passed away over 25 years ago, AJ--as we call her--was the only "parent" for my husband and me and the only "grandparent" for our children. Her loving, kind, generous, thoughtful and fun influence in our life simply cannot be overstated. We loved her dearly and we miss her terribly. She was our dearest Auntie J, our AJ. She loved all of her Turnabout friends and connections and it is wonderful and heartwarming to read these comments and to see our feelings mirrored in the words of others.
